Bluebonnet Elementary Strings is pleased to be able to offer beginning strings instruction to students in the area. Instruction will be offered on the violin, viola, cello, and bass. We will focus on:

  • Rhythm
  • Ear training
  • Ensemble experience
  • Music History
  • Performance Skills
  • Music Theory

Learning to play an instrument and belonging to an orchestra opens up a whole new world of friendship and fun. The opportunities for playing a stringed instrument after high school are abundant, with many universities offering scholarships for orchestra participation. Orchestra provides a great foundation for your child in all aspects of life. In addition to music, students learn:

  • Self discipline
  • Group cooperation
  • Problem Solving
  • Goal Setting
  • Enhanced Physical Coordination
  • Importance of Teamwork
  • Self Expression
  • Memory Skills
  • Concentration
  • Poise

These are skills in great demand in almost every aspect of life. Like all arts, music has profound effect on the academic success of students as well.

Classes will be offered at Bluebonnet Elementary on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 pm. The fee is $15 per week with 4-5 classes each month. In order for child to participate in these classes, you will need to obtain an instrument. Please do not obtain an instrument before receiving notice of the exact instrument needed. Classes begin Jan 6th.
